On average, a healthy adult needs to consume at least 8 glasses of water on a daily basis and this quantity should be increased during the summer and when exercising.

Avoiding dehydration is very important and you’ll need to take extra care in the hot weather.
On a hot day, you need to drink more water than you would in normal circumstances, particularly if you’re sweating a lot. Increase the amount you drink to ten glasses of water a day to compensate for the warmer weather.
Remember, if you’re feeling thirsty then you’re already starting to dehydrate, so take regular sips of water to stop this happening. If you’re planning on exercising, make sure you’re well-hydrated before you start.
